My company is closing the office in Laguna Hills. At the present, it sounds like everyone will be offered a job in the Santa Clara office. We'll find out more on Thursday. Supposedly the lease on the current space runs only until the beginning of March, so this may move fast.

Doesn't seem like you want to move.. which is probably good thinking on your part. My uncle used to live here in California, and the company closed production here and offered him the job in Indianapolis. He moved there and then a few years later was laid off. If you did move out there, ya shouldn't trust that they'll be around for long.

yeah, but I just moved out here last April for this job. 'cause Dee wanted to move back "home," which is here. so I'm really resistant to the thought of moving.

well the good new is lots of places (I have heard) are looking for good experienced programmers. It seems they are learning that these hotshot "programmers" just out of trade school or college really dont know anything about programming. As long as you are versatile and willing to learn new languages I am sure you will be able to find work. Santa Clara is blech and you think SD and OC are expensive HA!!! housing is terrible up there.

heh, I'd rather move to San Diego than NoCal. They company is saying that our salaries will be adjusted for cost of living differences, but they're keeping quiet about what that adjustment will be. I've heard a few rumors buzzing that the office might even be closed by Friday O.o Hopefully those are just rumors...
