Walking in the Past

Today I visited some old stomping grounds: Blacksburg & Virginia Tech. It hardly seems like two years since I graduated from college, but... boy can things change in two years

I don't know where I thought I'd be two years after graduation. I'm a computer engineer of sorts, which was something I could've told you since I was in junior high. I wouldn't have said I'd be working at the company I work at, though... 'cause I didn't even know they existed!

Of course, there were other things, expectations, that I had in junior high that haven't panned out. I wasn't a popular kid in junior high (what a surprise...), and at the time I figured that I wouldn't find anyone special to share my life with for a very long time, if at all.

But then, my life now isn't exactly what I thought it would be after one year of college. At that time, I was expecting to be living by myself, with a disposable incoming and being a "wild and crazy guy," or as much of a one as a geek can be. But, as it is, I am I mostly tame engaged guy. Who isn't really comfortable with that idea yet.

So I've been walking through my past, trying to understand the impact that has on my opinion of the present & dreams of the future...
