Recap of the Day

Packing and loading wrapped up around 2:30, at which time Dee and I hopped in the car to go get lunch. As we pulled out of the garage, it started to drizzle. Then my cell phone rang - it was the moving team, with an issue with Dee's computer desk - seems that it broke while they were loading it on the truck. So we detoured back to the apartment to check it out, just in time to see a lightning bolt on the horizon.

I commented, on seeing lightning, "I need a sticker that says "Not Lee Corso" on the roof." Dee laughed.

Turns out that they pulled one of the screws through the wood, so it might not be in such good shape when we get to Irvine. On the other hand, we had been discussing getting a new, smaller computer desk to help fit the new apartment space together the way we want. Well this just might encourage us to do that!

We had lunch at Sizzler, and then stopped at a Starbucks to surf and look for a hotel for the night. Oddly enough, most places were booked up tonight. It tooks us a while to find a place with rooms available. Actually, we passed on our first choice after we had waited in line at the desk, only to have the staff then go to help someone who arrived AFTER us, instead of calling the next in line. Well, anyway, we did find a room.

Still stuff left to do, but almost there... just gotta keep on keepin' on. ^_^
